The CARRIACOU Regatta Committee was established in 1965 by the late Linton. J. Riggs, a Jamanician born Yachtsman who settled here in the early 1950’s. The festival, which began as a mere boat racing event and is held over the Emancipation weekend each year, has now grown to include a large number of Sporting and Cultural activities.
