30 March - Sunday
High Temperature 95º+F - Low Temperature 86ºF
Simply BEAUTIFUL weather. Excellent swim conditions.
It's been a long time.... since I last wrote in this Diary.
NOT.... because I was away.
In truth because I have gotten a bit lazy here in Paradise of late.
My routine is now to wake-up around 6AM and while the coffee is making, I retrieve my 500-1,000 overnight e-mails. Must go thru each one to find perhaps 20-25 serious messages from folks just like yourself planning an island escape. By 9AM the mail is finished and I open the doors of the Internet Cafe until 3PM. Then it's across the street and time for an hour of swimming and exercise in the sea. Then back across the street, a quick shower and then I start
~ MY DAY ~
and usually that means that I do not even turn the computer back on.

So you see, little time with peace and quiet to write in the diary.
I have the "job" down to about 30-hours each week.
The remainder of my time now belongs to me rather than the business.

It's working.....
I have turned 50+ and it's been
Almost 2-years now since I stopped a 3+ pack per day cigarette habit
With each swim, pounds and years of accumulated fat have melted off the body leaving what remains more fit and better distributed.
My energy level is the highest it's been
AND my whole attitude has improved.

So now here I sit....
on a quiet Sunday morning...
listening to Nora Jones....
looking out the window to the blue sea....
under brilliant skies without a cloud to be seen....
already 92°F but feels like 82°F with our famous
TRADEWIND BREEEEEZES......

People dressed in their Sunday best wind their way to church.
A few tourists can been seen taking a morning run or quick walk.
I hear a lot of "Good Mornings" and "God Bless."
Plans are being made for another Family Sunday here on Carriacou.
Business stops and families join over a feast of food before heading down to the beach for a day of relaxation and good ole family values.
WORK TO LIVE not live to work - that's the attitude.

And the swim conditions - scuba too - are just perfect.
Warm clear water.
Ah... just another day here in Paradise.

Last week I swam with perhaps 25-30 Sting Rays. Grey with light checkered spots all over.  As I swam along under came a very large Ray - perhaps 8-12 feet across - effortlessly moved under me and I just kept swimming my route. Then I noticed to the left, to the right, all around really were more Rays..... all sizes.  I noticed how VERY LONG were their stinger tails. We swam together for about five minutes and then they veered to deeper water and were gone.
and this swim was right here in Hillsborough
Carriacou's Main Town
just down from the Main Jetty
just off the wide, white sandy beach

It's actually been quite busy here this Year - for Carriacou standards.
We shall see what the Summer brings us.
