Sailing the Grenadines with Catamaran Imagination
the yacht
Imagination is a 46 ft Bahia Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Designed and built as a charter boat, she combines speed and ease of handling with spacious and comfortable accommodation.
The owners are ultimately planning to sail her around the world. Hence Imagination has had many upgrades and extras such as extensive safety equipment, electronics, solar panels and a watermaker to make her completely self sufficient for an extended voyage.
Here in the Grenadines she is one of the few yachts to offer scuba diving from the boat. If you have never tried it but always wanted to you can take a resort course right on board!
accommodation
Imagination is a great yacht for families. She accommodates 6 guests in 3 cabins:
The forward port cabin is a queen and both aft cabins have full-size berths. Each guest cabin has a private ensuite head and shower.
The crew quarters and facilities are completely separate.
The incredibly spacious saloon includes a bar area that separates the galley.
The cockpit is shaded by a “hard top” bimini, and the trampolines forward can be shaded by an awning.
the crew
Shawn and Ally have been friends since they were 10. They both married and divorced, and they both had separate careers. Shawn graduated as an electronics system engineer and after working in that field for 16 years became a policeman. After that he got his captain’s license and worked on sailing boats. Last but not least he is a very patient PADI scuba diving instructor.
Ally worked in England as a registered nurse until she and Shawn rekindled their friendship and fell in love. They have now logged thousands of miles together on Imagination.
cuisine
To ensure her guests enjoy the best provisions and the highest quality local ingredients, Ally prepared, tweaked and re-tweaked dozens of recipes, creating menus to suit a variety of palates and dietary preferences. Her dishes are inspired by the cuisines of the southern United States, Italy and France – with “the occasional Caribbean twist.”
